Financial Security
In compliance with the EU Package Travel Directive any money paid to Duende Travel Limited is fully protected through an insurance scheme in the unlikely event of financial failure.
Single Room Supplement:
It is not our policy to profit from single travellers. If you are travelling alone we ask that you add to your payment the single room supplement which is the actual cost to us of single room occupancy. If you are willing to share a room and we are able to find another person to share with you we will return the sum paid. At all times we will attempt to provide double rooms for single occupancy where this is possile, without extra charge.
Cancellation:
In the event of you having to cancel your booking for whatever reason the following charges will apply:
Written Cancellation of booking received:
If we are obliged to cancel your booking due to a lack of participants on the walk we will advise you at least two months before the departure date of the trip. In this case all monies paid to us will be refunded. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the cost of air tickets purchased by you nor for the cost of any other travel arrangements that you may have made. We will infom all participants who have made a reservation on a trip when that trip has sufficient bookings to guarantee the departure. We would ask all participants not to purchase air tickets or make any other travel arrangements until you receive this confirmation.
Health:
These tours contain walks which are designed to be enjoyed by anyone who is fit and takes regular exercise of a similar nature. If you know of any reason why you might not be fit enough to undertake the tour, or if you have recently received medical attention or are receiving medication, you must provide a letter of authorisation from your doctor before being accepted on the trip. Adequate health insurance cover is a condition of acceptance of bookings.
We reserve the right to change routes, accommodation, etc., as may be necessary or desirable in order to allow for local weather conditions or any other circumstance.
Equipment:
The walks described in the brochure do not require any specialized equipment or skills. The only extra equipment required is good walking clothing, including waterproof outer clothing and stout footwear and a light rucksack for carrying a camera, your water-bottle and spare clothing, etc.
Insurance:
We offer a comprehensive insurance cover for the duration of your trip. The main items covered are cancellation of the trip, medical expenses, personal accident, hospital benefit and baggage and personal money. Full details are available on request.
PLEASE NOTE: INSURANCE COVER IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO UK BASED CLIENTS.
Clients not requiring our insurance policy should be aware that we do require of all our clients, for their peace of mind and to ensure the smooth running of the trip, that they take out adequate travel insurance cover for the trip which must include medical, repatriation and baggage and personal money insurance. We also strongly recommend the purchase of cancellation insurance at the same time as sending the deposit (see cancellation above).
